The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) is going to inaugurate its refurbished library in the name of Late M. S. Alam Mia FCS (F-0002). On This occasion, The Institute will organize an inaugural session of library and discussion and `Doa Mahfil’ to be held at the ICSB Campus on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 6.00 PM.
M. S. Alam Mia Played a pioneering role in establishing the Institute and contributed a lot for the development of the Chartered Secretaries profession in Bangladesh for more than one and half decades.
M. S. Alam Mia: A Source of Inspiration
A towering personality and a change maker, Mr. Alam was instrumental in establishing Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB). As Founding Member and Secretary of ICSB, his contributions are worth its weight in gold and will be etched in the history of Bangladesh professional bodies.
He began his career with Ralli Brothers Limited in 1950 and completed his CS Professional degree from the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, U.K. in year 1960. He served with numerous companies in his chequered career of 38 years including Hunslet Holdings Limited, Leads, U.K., as Cost Assistant (1960-61), Spencers Pakistan Limited as Secretary & Chief Accountant of its Subsidiaries (1961-65), East Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (EPIDC) as Manager, Managing Agency Division (1965-72), Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation as Secretary (1972-77), Bangladesh Handloom Board as Member, Finance and Planning, (1977-82), Micro Industries Development Assistance Society (MIDAS) as Deputy Director (1982-88) and Bangladesh Unnayan Parishad as Senior Scholar & Director, Programs.
